Daytime to Nighttime in Cranberry Red and Wednesday Linkup.
Happy Hump Day and Welcome to the Linkup. I am co-hosting today (and next Wednesday also) with MONICA from Jersey Girl Texan Heart. This girl has lots of style mixing high and low brands. She is very good at hair, makeup and nails too. Actually her nails always look superb and she has great tutorials, so make sure you visit her today, also. Thanks.
Some of my favorite posts that I do is when I show the same piece or the same pieces styled for different occasions. Today I am doing just that in this Monochromatic Cranberry Red Twofer Post with a nod to the 70s styles which are so big right now. I didn't mean to go full red, especially with the head-to-toe red look on the Nighttime Outfit (the shoes, skirt, sweater, clutch and even the little hair claw are all in different shades of deep red, though they mix well together, but I kept my lips in a camel/neutral lipstick). But sometimes, matching and going for monochromatic works out for the best. The daytime outfit has several elements from the 70s. Yes sure the Mini Skirt is a Suede Leather material, but I am also wearing a Silk Scarf tied around the neck like a choker, a Panama Hat and Booties. I think it is my favorite outfit out of the two and I got so many compliments when I wore it to a baby shower. The little blue in the silk scarf was nice too since the shower was for a baby boy. And sure this outfit is dressy enough for a dinner date and nighttime events too. The second dressier look is what I wore to a dinner date with my man, who complimented this outfit a lot. He knows red is my favorite color and a color that looks great on me. It is hard to tell also, but my Red Clutch is in a Snake-Skin Pattern. To add some interest and make an edgy statement I also am wearing a Fun, Edgy, Gold Chain+Black Suede Multi-Stranded Necklace. And I shopped my closet for almost everything I am wearing. Most items are at least 5 years old. Which outfit do you prefer: daytime or nighttime? FYI, there will be more posts like these in the future and I will bring back the "Mom Wear to Work Wear" series very soon. Also, on Friday November 6th stay tuned for another remix post. Thank you.

Looking gorgeous in red Ada! I too like the day version so much, very stylish and very pretty! Cool hat and glasses! The all-over-red night look is also nice. Though everything is in red the whole result doesn't look overwhelming. I love the golden glint that your necklace adds to the outfit
ReplyDeleteI love the monochromatic red! I have done monochromatic burgundy twice already this season. Apparently, I have accumulated a ton of pieces in burgundy, marsala, and wine colors!

ReplyDeleteHi Ada! This is Leighton Michele from En Pointe Chic! I love your monochromatic color choice for this outfit, the red keeps it bright and cheery, but the monochromatic color palete also keeps it from getting to busy. I am a huge hat lover, so I would probably have to say that the hat is my favorite look, but they are both very pretty!
