Budget Babes: Summer Trends - The Midi.
Today is the fourth day of our Budget-Conscious Week for Outfits that cost $75.00 or less, collaborating with the Thrifty but so Chic Maria. The idea is to keep each piece under 20 bucks, especially our main piece, the Summer Trend. Yesterday we showed you that our Summer Trend was a Graphic Tee, in case you missed it. Today though is all about a Midi; I styled a Midi Skirt and Maria styled a Midi Dress. If you haven't yet purchased a Midi, it is time to get one. I personally do not see them as a trend. To me their silhouette is so Classic, Feminine, Sophisticated and Classy that they are forever Stylish. Oh and you know how it works by now, click on the InLinkz button below and link up with us. Thanks. =)
I am in love with this Skirt that I wore to a lunch-date; a little fancy for lunch but I wanted to find an opportunity to dress up since as a SAHM and Housewife I am almost always in casual, comfortable clothes. The Skirt has Black+White Stripes which are my favorite kind in the most Classic Color Combination. It is very well made plus lined and it was originally $88.00 but I got it for about $18.00 and yes that is some huge savings. My top was originally $20.00 but I got it for $10.00. I love that the Bright Emerald Green pops against the Black+White. I chose another Statement Necklace (my third one this week lol) that costed me 10 bucks, in Bright Bejewel tones which pick up the color of my Sleeveless Button-Down. I added a few Green and Gold Bracelets which costed about $21.00, my Mushroom Stud Earrings and my Cocktail Ring were just 1 dollar each. Then my Lace+Silk Black Peep-Toe Pumps were $14.00 but originally around $30.00. The Clutch was about 20 bucks and after taking the pictures with the Clutch I realized that it put me over budget, but Maria and I didn't include Purses in our $75.00 budget, so the whole total (minus the bag) is exactly 75 bucks which is awesome because this Outfit would have been at least triple that if things were purchased with their original retail prices. Do you own a Black+White Striped Midi Skirt? I swear they are so versatile. And you can find several ones for different budgets.
Maria improvised. Her Midi Dress is actually a Maxi Skirt that she belted. I absolutely love the print and colors and she got it for 14 bucks. The Dark Denim Jacket anchors the look nicely, letting the Dress be the focal point of this Chic Outfit.
