Stripes, Checks and Cords.
Happy Tuesday Loves!!
It is cold, windy and rainy around here. I am definitely dressed in warm layers. The Outfit on the blog today, was from last weekend. I wanted to achieve a few things with it: 1) wear my Gorgeous Bordeaux Corduroy Skinny Pants that had been ignored for far too long (since Early April 2013 almost a year ago); 2) try to put together an Outfit for the Trend Spin Link Up today which is Stripes and Checks; 3) layer an Over-sized Button-down Shirt over a Light Sweater (my Husband's Checkered Shirt worked perfectly for this). So, I hit all of these things with this Outfit. And then, I learned that Trendy Tuesday with Danielle today, is Gingham and Cords. Lovely Danielle even styled her B+W Gingham Shirt with Burgundy Pants, like mine. Great minds think alike. (So, I hit the bull in its head with this Outfit.) Funny thing is I was going to wear a Small-Gingham Button-down with this, but I switched to these Checkered/Square Printed Button-down last second.
Let me just say, I love my first styling to my Beautiful Cords after almost a year off from wearing them (God knows why). Last time I also styled them with a Black+White Sweater, also from White House Black Market, just like the Striped Sweater today. Actually, my Jewelry, Pants & Sweater today come from WHBM- one of My Most Favorite Stores. If you have never stepped foot there, please do. You will get addicted to their Cardigans, Jeans/Skinny Pants (they fit awesome), Jewelry and Blazers. Everything in that store is Beautiful but I particularly love these items and no this is not a Sponsored post, I just love the brand very much. Anyway, my Matching Necklace & Dangly Earrings have semi-precious Royal Blue Stones, to play off the Light Blue Checks of the Shirt. As if the Cute Little Checks on my Shirt (check out the cuffs, they are a little bit different prints!) weren't enough, I added a Window-Pane, Geometric-Print Clutch which comes from The Limited - another one of my Favorite Stores. I wore my Trusted, Go-with-Everything, Patent Leather, Nude Pumps and wore this for some cocktails (it has been a super long time I had gone out for cocktails, since before I was pregnant- yep, true story!) How did I do? Do you like the Outfit? To me Gingham, Plaid, Square Print, Houndstooth, Tartan and Window-pane all classify as Checks, what about you? Am I right or what?! Have you mixed Checks with Stripes before?
Before I leave for today, I also wanted to let you know that I am Guest Posting for AMY of Amy's Fashion Blog, today, while she is in her Paris Vacation (Lucky Her!!). I am talking Spring and I am thinking Pink. See how I styled some Outfits for Spring; read here. Thank you. I hope to inspire you today to 1) wear some Burgundy Pants, 2) try remixing Checks/Plaid with Stripes & 3) wear some Pink since Spring is coming!

These cords are amazing, and look great with heels.
ReplyDeleteI love White House Black Market, too. Their stuff is SO well made. Seriously, I know the price tag can be high, but everything lasts forever, and it's all so classic.
ReplyDeleteYour cords look absolutely great on you, and I love them with the striped shirt. As you know, I am not that brave with pattern mixing, but it works for you!
I'd also like to throw it out there that your hair looks especially lovely today.
Great pants! I love the black and white with burgundy! Your clutch is so cute! I like the way the nude pumps look with this outfit!
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit Ada. The belt around the shirt is perfect. Those pants are fabulous.

Aren't berry-colored cords the best? I love mine, too. :)
ReplyDeletePS- the lip I'm wearing in my latest post is the Fresh Sugar lip treatment in Berry. :) So easy to wear, you should give it a try!

great cords and I love them with the stripes. Liking the button shirt over top.
ReplyDeleteI love these cords, especially with those shoes! They're such a great color...I have a pair of cords that I haven't worn in a long time, but I just can't bring myself to get rid of them! Maybe I'll give them another try if they still fit. :)
