If I Loved You - Poetry.

I haven't written a love poem in a while. It hasn't "come" to me I guess. But today those love poem thoughts came to my mind and I whipped up with the poem below. I knew I wanted to write something along the lines of "If I Loved You", and that ended up being my title too. I loved how beautiful it turned out and all the raw emotions and beautiful, unique and romantic metaphors that are poured into it! I hope you like it as much as I do. Happy Labor Day Weekend Everyone!! Enjoy the poem, below!

[September 1st 2019, 10.50 P.M.]

If I loved you
we would paint the city red, gold, fuchsia and blue,
we would leave footprints through the night,
as echos of our voices kissed the moonlight,
and raptures of our shivering bodies felt the city's depth,
I would curl up next to you and hold you within my heart...

If I loved you
you would know it by the glint in my eye,
my face would tell a thousand emotions,
my body would tremble next to your existence,
you would know my name and call it out just like that,
you would kiss me passionately and make love all night...

If I loved you
I would swim through the deepest ocean, into the blue,
I would fly free like a bird,
I would follow your footsteps, give you a head start,
I would live in your head and you would live inside my soul,
we would comfort each other, for the short and for the long haul...

If I loved you
hotter than the sun, more sterling than the moon,
I would dress you with hugs and kisses every morning,
as we would snooze our alarm clocks and do our coffee-drinking,
I would let you pick out my outfits and button my silky blouses,
I would let you compliment me and tell me how that shade of pink lipstick glows...

If I loved you
and you loved me too,
I would not let anyone double-cross us,
no crooks and bad cooks would mess up with our bliss,
we would savor that yummy love story we had cooked together
from the crock of dawn until we went to bed to rest next to each other...

If I loved you
all you had to do is stare into my eyes,
my heart would beat so strong for you my boo,
my feelings would be stronger than ever, as deep as the Mediterranean sea,
I would follow you to the moon and beyond,
I would breathe, kiss and love with you by my side...

If I loved you, just if...
you would mean the world to me,
but what would I mean to you?!

Thursday Moda #182: My Favorite Black Joggers and the Best Long Necklace.

Let me give praises to Vivian for taking some adorable photos here. I love the pics she took of me, especially the one (below) where I am walking and not paying attention. Now let me talk about my Favorite Black Joggers in a comfortable, easy, light silky material. They are by Who What Wear - my favorite Target brand - and I love that they feel so dressy and would even make a good pair of work pants, just pair them with a blouse or button-down shirt and you can even add a cardigan or blazer on top. Last Sunday for a casual day out with Vivian, I opted for a casual, chic, street-style Weekend Outfit, where I paired them with my Blue+White Striped Crossback Tank-Top by LOFT. And let me pay praise to my favorite long necklace which I purchased a couple of months ago also from Loft. It is in a long dainty gold-tone chain and it has a very light pastel tortoise circle pendant in it. I love the light acrylic material and the neutral shade of the pendant which goes with everything, I reach for this necklace for almost every outfit. Keeping with an athleisure yet street-chic vibe, I opted for these chic Two-Strap Cheetah Slides which matched the Nude Leather Crossbody Bag (both the bag and slides are by Target) and Taupe Loft Sunglasses very well. And I was having a good hair+makeup day. My Pretty Pink Pave Teardrop Earrings matched well with the Hot Pink Lipstick.

Thank you to all of you linked up with me last week. I am running real late, so after I get home from work, sometime this weekend, I will post my favorite looks you linked last week. Meanwhile please join the linkup below, and Thank You!!

The Best Black Shirtdress.

This is The Most Comfortable Black Shirtdress I own and the best one too! You can always count on White House Black Market for making chic, versatile, classic, pretty and elegant black shirtdresses in all kinds of fabrics, including a cozy, breathable jersey cotton or light ponte knit like mine. This dress has beautiful silver buttons (real buttons) that make a statement so I chose to accessorize it with silver earrings and a silver beaded 2-string bracelet also by WHBM. My Black+White Patent Leather Sandals with the fun Origami Flowers look like could be by White House Black Market too, but they are Calvin Klein's. Last but not least since my makeup was simple and I chose a nude lipstick, I decided for a subtle pop of color with that Teal Bubble Beaded Bold Necklace - love the teal or is that turquoise shade of color. The teal is splashed with gold like the tip of a paint-brush so I could have totally done other gold jewelry (bracelet, earrings, rings) to pair with this necklace, too. Oh and I shopped my closet for this head to toe look, as ALL the pieces (except the makeup lol) are over 7 years old. Do you own a Black Shirtdress that goes with everything?! Most importantly, have you shopped your closet lately.

Because one Black Shirtdress is better than two. Totally unplanned, but the day I wore this comfy jersey LBD, my cousin-in-law Orjana also wore a comfy, similar, black jersey shirtdress. Great minds think alike! I'd like to think we both look casual yet put-together and elegant! Love her choice of Nude Thong Sandals. We both chose cute thong sandals to wear with our simple but chic LBDs. She went for earth-tone accessories by choosing a Cognac-Beaded Long Necklace, which complimented her nude sandals. I own not one but two similar pairs of gold sandals like Orjana's and they would pair wonderfully with a shirtdress, a little black dress or any dress for that matter. What do you think?!

On the widget below, I have linked several Favorite Current Shirtdresses by White House Black Market and other beautiful Black Button-Front Shirtdresses I love. I was even able to find similar Teal Bubble Statement Necklace and Pretty Flower Sandals.

I think it is important to find something beautiful in every day. As cliché as that sounds it is the truth and something we should live by. Honestly, as I also mentioned in my most recent  Thursday Moda post where I showed you my swimsuit style, I haven't felt that beautiful this year. On the contrary I have felt bloated, fat, and not in tip-top shape, at least as far as my body goes. But I do know there is beautiful in me, in my life, in the daughter who gets to call me "Mommy" every day and in the everyday little curveballs that life throws us, whether good and exciting or bad and exhausting!

I rediscovered this "Feel Beautiful" T-shirt from my t-shirt collection recently, I have had it for at least 7 or 8 years, it is by White House Black Market and it is very simple but I love that powerful, beautiful, strong, simple little message it conveys "Feel Beautiful". Because we should all feel beautiful, and not just when we are dressed to the nines, our makeup is on fleek or we are having a great hair day. We should feel beautiful even after a dentist's appointment, when we are PMSing, when we may have spilled coffee on our clothes in the morning or when we are starting the day rushing through the hustle and bustle of each morning. We should feel beautiful on the outside when our inside is beautiful and trust me no matter how ugly, unattractive, not pleasant to the eye or physically unappealing one may feel or look, if their heart is big and beautiful and their spirit is strong and kind, it will show through. Be happy and you will feel beautiful! I just love this little black graphic t-shirt. Plus the tee is 100% soft cotton and I love that it is a simple black color with beautiful white cursive writing, that means it will match well with ANY color. So, you can totally dress it down with jeans and sneakers or booties, in between like I did here with this watercolor coral pencil skirt and my cute red ruffled slides by Target or dress it up for work with cropped pants, a blazer over it and pumps.

Vivian took all my photos above and then we took one together. This was a Sunday where we had lunch together and then went shopping for school supplies. You can see Vivian's joy as we purchased her school items on my recent Instagram post. You can always follow me on Instagram to keep up with me daily. =)
