Poetry - Endlessly.

I cannot believe May is over and this year is almost half-way through. WOW! 2018 you are flying by! I had a very challenging, tear-inducing and tough May to say the least. I think it even inspired the poem I am writing today on the blog. The idea is that no matter what we go through in life and despite every difficulty and challenge thrown at us, we have to surpass them, continue our lives, move on, survive and smile, at the end. =) Life goes on, as bad as some days get, as hopeless as we feel at times, life goes on and we have to continue thriving!!

Endlessly!
(June 1st 2018).

Endlessly, we wake up in the morning and greet the sun,
drink our coffee and start our day, hoping for the best,
go to work to make some money and pay our bills,
grab some lunch on the go and so on with the rest!

Endlessly, we find reasons to be happy and smile,
look around and find all the flowers and smell them within,
stop and stare at the moon, the stars and the sun for a while,
take a deep breath and take all the beauty around us, in!

Endlessly, we follow patterns, routines, behaviors,
we do the same things each day, each night,
sometimes we step out of the box and try different flavors,
we can be daring, brave and bold if we want!

Endlessly we are looking for something but what,
a slice of joy, some happiness, a cloud of hope,
we are looking for love all around us, that undeniable love,
the love that brings butterflies to our stomachs, the love that melts!

Endlessly we are looking for a special someone,
even if we once had him or her ...or so we thought...
we are looking for the unicorn, for the one,
our soul's fulfillment, the one we are meant to find!

Endlessly we are hoping, living and laughing,
making each day on this earth feel better than the last,
endlessly we are falling in love, standing up and falling,
yet continuing to shine even when life is tough and not the best!

Thursday Moda #117: Memorial Day Casual.

Happy Thursday Everyone! It rarely happens that I post an outfit that I wore that same week... but today is one of those days. Vivian and I wore these breezy, comfortable Summery looks this past Monday for Memorial Day. =) And speaking of my sweet girl Vivi, you guys love it when we do our Mommy+Me posts so this week I got two of them, two in a row actually. Well, in yesterday's post I talked about my special dates with my little girl, how we love going out for coffee, ice-cream, lunch, visiting a cute down-town or going to a park, the library, etc. On Memorial Day (this past Monday) since it was a very hot 93 degrees, I took Vivian to the local mall for her to play at the indoor playground. We grabbed some cool drinks and some snacks there too. If it was up to me, we'd rather go to the beach but we have been fighting a cold (both of us) for over a week (we still have a harsh cough) and though the temps were super hot, our Michigan Winter was long and freezing so the lakes' water is super cold.

If my outfit isn't a Mom Shorts Look I don't know what is. I kept it super casual and sporty (a total mom look) because as I said it was super hot. But of course I had to honor all those who have fought for this amazing country, so I wore White Denim Shorts - speaking of these shorts, I love that they are like a medium length and perfect for a mom - with my Red Sleeveless Button-Down Shirt (tucked inside them) and a Royal Blue Faux Tote Bag. Now, I could have gone for some Crisp-White Sneakers but I added touches of Pale Pink to my patriotic Red+White+Blue Outfit, with my Pale Pink Keds, Pale Pink Skinny Belt and Pale Pink Sunnies. I love that the Keds logo (on the back of my sneakers) is in Navy Blue and I added that Navy Heart-Print Ponytail Holder to my wrist as a bracelet. Kept the rest of my jewelry and makeup super simple due to the heat and JUST wore my Pomegranate Circle Studs. Vivian in her adorable double French braids wore her 'Fishy Dress' as she calls it (by Land's End - I love the kids' clothing line) with her Hot Pink Perforated Foam Sneakers. I ended up buying Vivian a few new Summer clothes at the mall, so when we got home she too joined the patriotic parade and I put her in a Tie-Dye Red/White/Blue Tank Top I had just purchased. The only thing I hate here is how pale my skin looks! Yuck!

This selfie is snapped with my phone but it was my favorite photo I took that entire day and one of my favorite selfies this year. There is something about a smile. I mentioned it in my last Thursday Moda post, also. This smile was genuine and I look 100% like me. Despite dealing with the heat while shooting these photos, I still managed to spark a real smile. Someone even called me 'dashing' when I posted this particular photo on my social media accounts.

Last week you all wore a lot of yellow... and florals... And I was attracted to lots of looks featuring the pretty and not-so-mellow yellow and the beautiful florals of Spring.  There were lots of outfits featuring hats and maxis linked as these two pieces both symbolize Summer (just days away now). Dresses, vests and pretty shoes were a part of the fashion game too. Thank you all for linking. =)

This week's featured blogger is AMY of Amy's Creative Pursuits featuring not one but two romantic Summer looks as she remixes that pretty and versatile black floppy hat. First, we saw the lovely Amy in a Black Maxi Dress with gorgeous red roses complete with versatile black wedge sandals and an oversized neutral straw tote. But I just love all the colors in her other outfit featuring the super gorgeous marigold floral midi skirt. Amy is a Midwestern Mama and Grandma who wears a lot of colors and her outfits are always super flattering on her. You should check out her stylish blog for more inspiration and nice Stitch Fix reviews, too.

Joi's 'Daytime Sequins' in her yellow bouquet of a skirt are stunning. It amazes me how she found a tee that matches the skirt perfectly too, and it all looks like a fancy fairy dress! Just a beauty!
Nina wore medium-length white shorts like me but dressed them up. Her hat is gorgeous and I love what she wrote in regards to 'Middle Age'
Jodie and her crew of fashionistas are 'Dressing Up Denim'. Love her navy over navy pairing of a button-down with a vest. The masculine vibes in her outfit are so modern and chic.
Ash reminded me to wear my cascading olive green long vest over a pretty Summer dress. But it is really her 'Striped Sandals' with the knotted straps I am dying over!
Jess 'Lemon Top' looks crisp and fresh with her white skinny jeans. Those colorblocked yellow+white statement earrings match perfectly and I love her circle straw crossbody.
Cheryl shares 'What to Wear with a Wrap Dress'. She looks like a class act in her wrap mini dress. Great styling!

Mommy+Mini Spring Style: Ponte Dresses in Howell, Michigan.

I love Sundays spent with my daughter. It is my only full day off every week and I make sure to spend it with Vivian. We don't always go out and even when we do it doesn't have to be anything too fancy. But if the weather is nice, I love checking out one of the cute down-towns in a city nearby, a cute cafe or maybe grabbing a bite to eat. This time around we checked out Howell, MI. It is about 20 miles away from where we live. They have a small (but not too small) downtown filled with local restaurants, cafes, a few shops, a theater, some churches and also a museum and a couple of lapidars in regards to the World War II. It has a lot of history and patriotism for a small town. We grabbed a yummy cappuccino at a local cafe called "Uptown Coffeehouse" where a lot of youth was attending.

For this day in the late 50s (it was April 29th by the way) but full of sunshine, I opted for my White+Black Striped Ponte Mini Dress by Old Navy paired with my Ochre Long Chenille Cardigan from Loft purchased last Fall and which I have worn a ton. You can never go wrong with a striped dress paired with a long cardi. The first time ever I wore open-toe shoes too so I went for my Neutral Laceup Wedges by Target and carried my Blush Nude Mini Crossbody Bag. I matched the bag to my Matte Blush Pink Sunnies by Forever 21 and matchy Feather Blush Pink Statement Earrings by LOFT and I love these earrings by the way. Vivian wore her Red+Pink Sweatshirt Dress over some Heart-Print Leggings with a matching Red Striped Bow on her gorgeous hair and her Silver Mary Jane Flats. She steals the show in all of her pics. Most pics of the two of us are snapped down-town Howell, by the way. Such a cute little town! =)

Happy Tuesday that feels like a Monday and have a Great Rest of the Week, everyone!!
