The Holiday Series: What to Wear for New Year's Eve, a Multi-Blogger Collaboration + Linkup.

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and that Santa plus your loved ones were very attentive and nice to your needs and wants. So, if you have paid attention to my posts the last month and a half or so, you may have noticed these Multi-Blogger Collaborations often. That is because I got together a total of 15 beautiful stylish ladies whose blogs and styles I love, to share with you all what I called "The Holiday Series". Some of these ladies participated in all 6 collabs of this series and some chose to participate in some of them. Today I got a glammed-up look for you in Colorblocked Burgundy+Black with separates and it is my New Year's Eve Outfit which turned out great. Because you got it -- the last and final Holiday Series post is all about New Year's Outfits. So, the first week we shared our Thanksgiving Outfits, next we shared our Black Friday Outfits, then we opened our doors for the Holiday Home Tours, 2 weeks ago we shared our Holiday Winter Wedding Outfits and finally last Wednesday - with the BIGGEST Multi-Blogger Collaboration ever made of ALL 15 bloggers, we shared our Christmas Outfits. Everyone has different plans too so their outfits are different but oh man Kellyann's New Year's even night sounds like a ton of fun!

Vivian noticed that I dressed up for this shoot and wanted to dress up herself to match+coordinate mommy. I think she picked well since she wore her Burgundy Floral Fit+Flare Dress and for some New Year's sparkle, she has on her Shimmer Silver Tights and her Festive Red Pom Pom Mary Jane Flats. Her Red Velvet Poinsettia Flower Headband is also perfectly-festive for the holiday season. This dress is perfectly dressy for Winter because the skirt has a tulle underlay and the material is quite thick but since it is sleeveless we chose a hot pink, long-sleeve tee underneath to bring out the pink flowers. Just like my outfit that mostly comes from Target, Vivian's dress, tee and beautiful red shoes are also from there. Her tights are from Gymboree and headband is from The Children's Place.

Now, read on to see what everyone has to say about New Year's and most importantly what they wore.
Ada: "New Year's Eve is literally a few days away and I still have to finalize my plans, but no matter what I do I will settle for a girly+sexy silky camisole and a touch of leather and lace. I am loving this combination of burgundy with black - always a classic color pairing for Winter - and all the textures. Stop by the blog too, to see Vivian's own coordinated, matchy outfit. Happy 2018 and let it shine!!"

Monica: "Y'all it's almost 2018!  Are you excited, or is it just another year for you?  Regardless, Happy New Year!  I'm not one to make resolutions, but there are a few that I am making this year because I have a lot of stuff to do in the new year, so might as well set some resolutions with my life goals."

Chrissy: "Our NYE celebration changes each year. We may be gaming and setting off fireworks, chilling with friends or even falling asleep (gasp) on our own comfy sofa. I can’t remember the last time I rang in the new year with dancing, so I’m a little rusty but ready to give it a go this year!!"

Linda: "I found this skirt last year at Target after the holidays and it has been waiting in my closet for the perfect occasion. The sweater was an H+M sale also last year after the holidays.  Two random pieces waiting for the special event.  This year we are celebrating in Atlanta and heading to the Peach Bowl, leaving the snow and cold behind.  Happy New Year and all the best to everyone's families."

Kristin: "We're headed to Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, to celebrate New Year's Eve this year and I'm so excited! Instead of a dress I'm going to be wearing this velvet bodysuit, skinny pants, and 'Happy New Year' headband. I can't wait to see everyone's looks!"

Shelbee: "I stay in every year for New Year's Eve, but that doesn't stop me from dressing up and celebrating the occasion.  This year I am giving the pajama/lingerie trend a try with this lacy burgundy and black dress layered under a black lace and velvet kimono.  Some fun patterned fish nets, patent leather booties in wine, and sparkly jewelry complete the look.  And if it really does look like pajamas, it doesn't much matter since I am not leaving my house! I wish you all many blessings in the New Year! "

Kellyann: "We spend NYE with our closest friends.  We make lots of yummy food, play games, and listen to music.  We've been doing this for years and we always have a great time.  While I want to look festive I also want to be comfortable so I chose my new sweatshirt and comfiest faux leather leggings.  Happy New Year to everyone!"

Lee: "New Years - "We aren't huge New Years Eve partiers. This year we will stay home and watch a movie like we do every year.  I am sharing a second way to style the leather front leggings.  Versatility is important to me when buying clothing."

Christine: "I like to keep my NYE outfit simple and effortless. Hubby and I go out dancing so I want to be sure I’m comfortable all night! This faux-leather leggings and metallic top are perfect to ring in the New Year in style!"

THE  LEATHER  PIECES.
I think leather is a great texture to wear for a special night like New Year's. Faux Leather is even better and of course budget-friendly, both my skirt and jacket are faux leather. My Flirty Peplum Lace-Ruffled Black Mini Skirt by Who What Wear at Target is so pretty and unique, fun, sexy and girly. I wasn't sure how I would like it on person since I had to order it online. But I was pleasantly surprised to see it on me. It runs true to size, I am wearing a 4. I think this skirt is great with a pretty top, blouse or camisole tucked in it. While the Waterfall-Collared Burgundy Jacket was purchased last Summer (2016) during Nordstrom's anniversary sale. The back is a different regular material, not leather-y. Mine is also a Blank NYC but this faux leather ribbed option is very similar (same color too) and on huge sale. I need to style these leather pieces together again, they paired so well. Plus if it is hot for your night out or a lot of dancing is involved, take off the jacket to be comfortable.

Identical Silky Camisole (comes in 4 colors, for a Huge Steal!) // Identical, Peplum Lace-Ruffled Black, Faux Leather Mini Skirt // Very Similar Genuine Suede Burgundy Jacket // Very Similar Burgundy Beaded Clutch (for a steal!) // Similar Bold Necklace w/ Black African Beads // Similar, Silver-Toned, Blue Beaded Chandelier Earrings // Similar Bracelet w/ Square Black Stones // Similar Blue Beaded Bracelet // Similar Silver-Tone Cocktail Ring w/ Large Rectangle Purple Stone // Very Similar Opaque Burgundy Tights // Similar Block Heel, Black Suede Pumps //Identical Smashbox Lipstick in "High Stakes" (mine is like a cinnamon shade) - I just got this lipstick in a PR package and I love it, first time ever trying Smashbox lipstick. This type of lipstick comes in over 25 colors and I want more (I am a lipstick junkie lol).

THE  CAMISOLE  AND  THE  CLUTCH.
I love these slinky feels-like-silk (but in't silk) camisoles I recently purchased on sale from Target's "A New Day" line (mentioned here). I got them in a couple of colors, I also did a price adjustment because a day or two after I got mine they went on clearance. Now, the shades of my camisole and leather jacket are a very similar wine color, the burgundy tights are darker, while the little beaded clutch (a Christmas present this year, brought from India) is more red, like a cranberry shade. I love this beaded clutch so much and I noticed how most of these ladies are carrying a pretty clutch. Mine also has Silver Swarovski crystals going across like chevron stripes. Despite all the shades of burgundy (including burgundy lipstick), they all worked together and color-blocked well with the black pieces (skirt and pumps). And speaking of the pumps, I love these Faux Suede ones with the Tortoise Heels (also by Target, just like my cami and skirt). This NY Eve look blends in all the textures well: leather, lace, silk, suede and crystals.

All of these ladies look incredible yet everyone's look is so different. Shelbee and I both paired black+burgundy, while the rest wore neutrals. And Christine too chose a sexy camisole - they are back in full fashion force. I love the idea of a jumpsuit (instead of a dress) for New Year's Eve and I myself wore a jumpsuit last year. Monica and Kristin (who faked a jumpsuit with a bodysuit tucked into pants) look amazing in theirs, plus I love Kristin's fancy beaded headband and Monica's beautiful crystal clutch - jewelry to carry in your hands. But hands down my favorite outfit this time time belongs to Chrissy. It is so unique, fun and fabulous. She rocks the camo skinnies and those poses - divine! I want to thank all of these ladies and the other 6 stylish bloggers that were part of the previous collaborations for making "The Holiday Series" a huge success!

Vivian's Outfit:
Burgundy Floral Fit+Flare Sleeveless Dress with Pink Flowers: Genuine Kids via Target (Similar, on Huge Sale).
Hot Pink, Long Sleeve Graphic Tee: Cat+Jack via Target (Very Similar current option by Cat+Jack - Viv owns this too).
Red Velvet Poinsettia Flower Headband: The Children's Place (New) (Similar Festive, Fancy, Red Flower Headband).
Shimmery Silver Thin Tights: Gymboree (Similar).
Red Velvet Pom Pom Mary Jane Ballet Flats: Cat+Jack via Target (New) (Identical).

THE  JEWELRY.
New Year's Eve is all about sparkle and shiny things. While I didn't do sequins in my clothes, the clutch and all my jewelry is sparkly. I went bold with the jewelry pairing a Black+Silver 3-Stranded Big Bauble Necklace with Blue-Stone Chandelier Earrings. I paid attention to the details too. My Black Square-Stone Stretchy Bracelet matches the black necklace while my Blue Woven Beaded Bracelet matches the clear Blue stones in my earrings. I also have on a Rectangle Purple Stone Bold Ring. All the jewelry is from The Limited, White House Black Market and Nordstrom, all has been in my closet for a while.

On my Thursday Moda post this week I will show you another (more casual way) to wear a skirt for New Year's Eve. Stay Tuned and thank you for reading!

  9. Leather is so perfect for NYE! That skirt is such a great piece. The leather makes is edgy but the ruffle makes it girly. And wearing it with burgundy was the perfect choice in my opinion! Thank you so much for hosting all of the holiday collaborations! I know we all TRULY appreciate the time and effort you take to make each of the posts special and we're lucky to have blogger friends like you!
