Thursday Moda #79: Family Evening Downtown Northville.

Happy Thursday you all! I have a fun post today filled with pictures featuring my family (my parents as well as my daughter) during one of - what it felt like - the last days of Summer here in the beautiful Mitten State. These photos were taken last Tuesday (the last Monday of August) on a warm and sunny early evening, Downtown the City of Northville, here in Michigan. They are not the best photos since they were snapped with my phone (who is 3 years old; I ordered a new phone guys) and some of these were taken exactly from my Instagram stories - if you guys don't follow me there you should. I post content 100% differently than I do on the blog. We all had a great evening, drinking our lattes with some French cookies at the cutest cafe called "Little Paris Cafe".

Downtown Northville is such a beautiful area, filled with restaurants, cafes and boutiques that are all privately-owned. In the middle of the downtown area, across the Main Street you have the beautiful fountain you see in most of my pictures, on one side, and parallel with it you have the area that features the big grandfather clock, surrounded by a gorgeous garden of colorful flowers and some trees in the middle. It is truly pretty, colorful and very inviting, especially in the Spring and Summer.

Thanks to my beautiful+stylish friend JILL from Doused in Pink - who beautifully wore her black maxi dress with a fedora, a few weeks ago - I was reminded that I had yet to wear my black maxi this Summer. I picked up this beautiful black maxi at the end of the season last year, for a steal. It is made of the softest, best-made jersey cotton. The see-through panels you see, it is actually very fine crochet detail. The third sheer panel is underneath the chest area. I paired the dress with my Gold-Tone, 3-Stranded Long Necklace with Turquoise Stones (from Wal Mart), Small Stud Earrings, a few Mix+Match Bracelets and my Taupe Sunglasses which matched the Dark Taupe Laceup Wedge Sandals. Vivian's Dress with the Tulle Coral Frou-Frou Skirt is actually covered by her Coral-Striped Navy Peplum Tee - which looks like together with the dress (underneath it) makes one dress, but yeah we fooled you. Don't they match so well together, though?!

The best parents in the world!! They are kind, loving, genuine, family-oriented, hard workers and wonderful grandparents, too.
"Little Paris Cafe" Downtown Northville is a cafe where you can buy more than coffee, latte, tea or small desserts and cookies. They also make delicious sandwiches and crepes and the best part is that they sell books, magazines and newspapers too. I have always loved the concept of a bookstore and cafe in one place. You can read or browse books while you eat or drink there. I ended up buying the book above and I am already half-way through it. I had to stop read it for a while due to a very busy work week and lack of time, really. But it is very good and I love the cover. This cafe also has an area for young kids and toddlers to play so Vivi of course loved that part and loved browsing at the children's books, too.

Due to lack of time, last week I didn't show any favorites, but I am today. Thank you to all 125 of you who linked up last week making it hard for me to selecting favorites as always. The featured blogger is rocking not one but three amazing Floral Dresses that she linked up and the rest of the featured beauties have their early Fall style game, head on, with their adorable outfits.
This week's featured blogger is the gorgeous blonde bombshell KATE CRANDALL from Student's Wife who as you can see is expecting, (her third baby in case you are wondering) and this mama linked up several great looks but I was especially fond of all of her floral dresses who show off her beautiful bump. Each floral print and each styling is perfect for early Fall. I love the bohemian and easy feel of the cranberry+pink flower maxi wrap dress paired with brown wedge sandals, while for her Sunday Style, Kate shows us this knee-length bodycon dress with black block heel sandals and a black floppy hat. As if that wasn't enough, Kate's current outfit post features yet another beautiful floral dress. If you want to see more cute outfits as well as her adorable toddler girl dressed to the nines, check out Kate's blog. She is stylish and beautiful and has some amazing hair tutorials for girls' braids, too. Congrats on being featured and on the third baby, Kate!

Her 'Pre-Fall' style is perfect because Tiffany's maroon utility jacket, nude booties and classic LV brown satchel make for the perfect Fall outfit when you still want to wear shorts.
Nancy wears the most unique 'Striped Dress' - it is so flattering. Plus the midi length and elbow-length sleeves, as well as the neutral colors make it perfect.
In Kileen's case the volume both in the pants and on the top, work! Her white+mustard outfit post has 'Tips for Styling Office Trends'.
'Style in the Mountains' is the new name of her blog, but Cheryl is still Summery in this cold-shoulder outfit with the It wicker bag of the moment and those two-tone wedge espadrilles. Love it all.

Now join the linkup and make some new friends!

  1. When we get to spend time with family it's always such a treat, especially when our little ones are building bonds with their grandparents, it always warms my heart. You all look so relaxed and still in summer mode. I have been taking every opportunity to dress in my summer clothes one last time before the fall, and in my case the harsh winter arrives and settles in for 5-6 months. Glad to be back and to see your family.
