Mom Wear to Work Wear: Yellow Floral Peplum Top (Looks 1+2).

Today starts my Summer 2017 Remix or better known as a capsule wardrobe! For the next 6 weeks, see how I work around a capsule wardrobe of 30 clothing pieces (not including shoes). I will be posting Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays (hopefully). I will be starting it with a two-way to style it piece and I chose this Yellow Floral Peplum Blouse. Once upon a time I started this series (I used to do it every other week on Mondays) called "Mom Wear to Work Wear". On Mondays I will alternate between a Mom Wear to Work Wear Remix and a Day to Night Remix. Tuesdays would be any outfit, Wednesdays is all about work-wear. Thursdays (during linkup day) I will be posting two outfits - one from the capsule wardrobe and another one not included in the capsule. Fridays I will focus on either Casual Weekend looks or Date Night/Girls Night out looks and Sundays I will most likely do some Mommy+Me Outfits with Vivian.

Today I am styling my peplum top twice. The first (Mom Wear) look was worn last Sunday for a day spent with Vivian: lunch, playground, shopping and a stop at church after. The second dressier (Work Wear) look I put together on Friday for work. Since we have a lot to cover in today's post and two outfits to get to, I will start posting the 30 items I chose, in tomorrow's post. Now let's get to each outfit individually.

MOM WEAR:
F.Y.I. the floral peplum blouse, blush skinny jeans and patterned tulip skirt are all pieces included in my capsule wardrobe for this Summer. Yesterday I styled a yellow floral also but it was a skirt mixed with a green floral top. Today my yellow floral is on the top and I love how it looked with those blush pink skinny Rockstar jeans. I have done a combination of solid blush pink with a yellow floral before, except the pieces were swapped since my skirt was floral and my blouse was blush. I added a blush+white statement necklace and matching statement earrings to this outfit (from my last Rocksbox) as well as a little gold-tone marble stone cuff. I decided to dress it up a bit (though still casual) because we were going to church afterwards. And matching the blush pink jeans, I chose muted pink sunnies and a light pink matte lipstick.

WORK WEAR:
Now this is one bold look and wouldn't fly at any office. For a more casual business, yes. I realize I have mixed three prints: two of which are yellow florals (my skirt and bag) and a smaller print which is my geometric-patterned skirt, but I never shied away from some color and print. It worked because the three main colors of the outfit are yellow, navy and light blue (the flowers on the top are also in navy, white and light blue just like the three colors of the skirt). I also added a pop of olive green with the laceup block heel sandals and they bring out the little olive from the purse. This time I tucked in the peplum skirt because it is best suited for this tulip-style wrap pencil skirt which is very flattering I must add. Since this outfit is busy on its own, no statement necklace or huge earrings were needed. I just wore some light, almond-shaped gold-tone earrings. I added a bold bright raspberry lipstick and my dark gray tortoise sunnies which bring out the gray flowers of the bag. I am torn as which is my favorite look out of these two, depending on what time of the day do you ask me. What about you - which one do you like?! I really hope you are excited to see the rest of these outfits. I have already worn and styled the first 10. About 25-30 more to go because my goal is 40.

Dressy Work Look

Last but not least, every Monday during my two-ways-to wear remixes, I will feature a blogger who has lately also remixed her wardrobe. Today we got Mary of The Real Girl's Realm (below) styling her own floral top from Mom Wear (left) to Work Wear (right). The pastel colors of the tee suit her and I love both of her pairs of nude shoes. The dressier work look is my favorite though - the pleated colorblocked midi skirt, the big yellow clutch - it is all gorgeous!

  1. The yellow floral top is superb Ada.
I have a question or two ;) It's regarding work.
Do you work in an office with lots of coworkers or a small group ?
Do they react to your outfits ?

  8. Love both looks Ada! I am a fan of yellow in the summer, although all yellow shades dont look great on me. This looks so pretty and summery on you, and I love that you paired it with the feminine pink shade. Pretty pattern on your skirt too!
    Have a great weekend!
