Thursday Moda #57: Blush Pink and Spring Heels.

Welcome to the 57th week of Thursday Moda which is all about Blush Pink (a.k.a. Rose Quartz) and Spring Heels, styled by me and my Lovely, Beautiful Co-Host MARY from Mary Murnane. Mary styled the prettiest Asymmetric Ruffly Blush Nude Dress with matching Cardigan and matching Spring Sandals and a Python Clutch. Mary is one of those 50+ ladies who is always modern, sophisticated, elegant and put together. She has a gorgeous collection of bags and shoes too. Getting to know her as my co-host this week, I found out that she has been blogging for almost the same amount of time as me and she also has a beautiful daughter which she features on her blog sometimes - another thing we have in common. Mary is truly beautiful inside out and always put together; she inspires me! Get to know her better by following her blog and you can see her post on detail here.

There are many shades of blush pink in my outfit today (originally worn this Monday and yes it went up to 70 degrees exact, that day). My Long-Sleeve Nude Floral Romper with embroidery over it (purchased in Summer, last year) was paired with a Light Pink Cardigan (it has a coral undertone) which I have had in my closet from The Limited for 15 years (a silk-blend and it still looks brand new). I layered them together and cinched my waist with a very skinny Nude-Blush Belt which is new-ish, my Gray Felt Panama Hat from a year ago and my Hot Pink Flamingo Clutch from last Spring.
...Finishing it all off with my Spring Heels and for that I chose these Blush/Dusty Rose Velvet Pumps with three buckled straps and block heels. You first saw them here on my Instagram. These gorgeous shoes were sent to me from the "Best Friends" Boutique. A local boutique in up-north Michigan which is opened and owned by two best friends. Staying true to the name of their boutique, these lovely stylish 20-somethings have focused mostly on shoes and bags (they are every fashionista's best friends as well as best pair when it comes to accessories), but they also have other things like jewelry, other accessories and cute clothes. They asked me if I wanted the blush pair or the navy ones. After going back and forth in my head for 3 days, I decided for the blush. However, I do want to add some navy or cobalt velvet booties to my closet. Needles to say, this outfit got many compliments on Monday when I wore it. The pink+gray paired so well together, as did the touches of hot pink and matching tassels from the clutch and gifted necklace. The pretty beaded light blue+coral blush bracelets mixed+matched well together, too. Lastly, my L'Oreal Fairest Nude Lipstick and a coat of mascara was enough for me for this warm Spring day. What do you think of this Girly Bohemian Look?! Wearing blush and velvet shoes this Spring, like me?!

About 110-115 looks were linked up last week and I loved so many looks. In actuality I loved 8 outfits very much, 4 of which were pretty casual and the other 4 (today's) were quite dressy. At the end of the day, I decided to highlight 4 favorites in the dressy category, as you all know I am attracted to dresses and I love dressing up, so no surprise there. Interesting enough 3 of these ladies here, I have collaborated with for the Wedding posts before. All 4 of these ladies are always dressed to impress and own many dresses and skirts.
Nina's 'Floral Dress' has bell sleeves, a pretty print and plenty of Bohemian flair. I love that the sky blue scarf picks up the light blue from the dress.
'Styling a Backless Dress' in a modern way is Amy Ann with this lacy LWD she paired with a black tee and black heeled sandals - the perfect way to transition into Spring.
'Betty Draper' or is it Kristin paying the most elegant homage to the classic styles of the 60s in this bouquet of a dress with an A-line full skirt?! Love it.
Roxanne is 'Light and Springy' in the perfect pairing of a wrap white tee and flippy heather grey skirt. Love the loafers and that oversized blush clutch with it. Soft and gorgeous.

This Week's Thursday Moda Co-Host: Mary Murnane.
The Ever-Elegant and Ageless Mary is ready for Spring in these late outfits I chose as some of my favorites. That embroidered yellow dress is a stunner as is the wicker bucket bag which needs to get to my closet!

From Mary's Mouth:
"I'm a former TV News reporter and anchor from Chicago turned portrait photographer (I had my own studio for several years) turned digital media publisher. I have been blogging since 2011 and write about style, beauty, culture, design and life. I have always loved fashion and also love helping others develop their own signature style. As far as my own style goes, I am a minimalist at heart and love classic design with elevated details - a little bit Katharine Hepburn, a little bit Grace Kelly. Whatever my look, I always like there to be at least one unique twist that creates a fresh take on my basics.
I am married to my best friend and have one amazing, incredible, gorgeous daughter who appears on my blog from time to time, and an adorable 11-year old pug named Bella :) I can be found on Facebook Instagram and Bloglovin."

  9. Hi Ada! Thanks so much for the opportunity to co-host with you today and especially for all of your kind words! You truly are the sweetest!

And how cute is your take on this spring trend?! Love the romper! I am sure it will be a key piece for you this summer. And those shoes are so pretty and on point. Love the details. As for your cardigan, you won't believe this, but years and years ago I bought that exact same cardigan and matching shell in every color, and I do mean every color - black, beige, grey, coral, navy, and amethyst. It's a silk blend and has such a nice drape. I still wear them and consider them to be some of my favorite closet basics. Has it really been 15 years?! :)

Thank you again for everything! Have a wonderful weekend!
