Mommy+Mini Valentine: Pinks and Grays.

Finally, on the last day of February, I am posting the 5th Mommy+Mini Look inspired by Valentine's Day. Better late than never, right? We wore this for a day of shopping and a stop to McDonald's, on a Friday morning+early afternoon with Vivian. Though my dress is a Mauve shade of Pink and my Tights are a Dark (Marled) Gray, Vivian did coordinate with me with her Pink Sweatshirt Dress and Light Gray Ribbed (Knit) Skinny Pants.

You may remember this Hi-Lo Gray Sweater Dress which I have already styled/shown 3 times on the blog already. But IRL I have worn it at least half a dozen of times. On this post I mentioned I would get the Mauve version and I did. I ended up wearing it twice in February - it was a great color (also pretty subtle) for the month of love. Sometime in early February I picked up this Pretty Lace Choker in a Light Mauve Pink (from Express) and this Sweater Dress is the first one I styled it with - it is perfect for it. I love how it layered with the Dainty Gold Lariat Necklace. Also, just like I have styled my Gray Sweater Dress with Leggings or Thick Tights and these same Gray OTK Booties before, I did the same for this dress. But instead of Black Leggings (which were perfect for the gray dress), I opted for Gray Tights which paired with the Gray Boots in almost the same shade, therefore making my legs look even longer and better. Oh and in case you are wondering, Vivian accessorized her Pink with Leopard Graphic Sweatshirt+Tutu Dress with one of those infamous stickers from Target they gave her, on the day we wore these outfits while shopping there lol. What do you think of our Mommy+Me duo of outfits today? Hope you liked them and as always - thank you for stopping by.

Since Valentine's day was in February and it was the month of Love, I am continuing to spread the love this month and to wrap it up, in addition to our Mommy+Mini posts with Vivian and myself, I am featuring three mommy+daughter pairings that looked incredible last week, during my one year celebration of Thursday Moda. Their looks are different but equally fun and beautiful. All three of these ladies are super stylish moms and their toddler girls are taking after them. There will be more features I loved on tomorrow's Thursday Moda linkup too, so stay tuned. =)

Kileen and her gorgeous mini Mei, coordinated their Rose Quartz Dresses: Kileen's is lacy while Mei's has a whimsical pattern.  In this post she also shared some awesome 'Valentine's Day Activities for Kids'.
Their 'Psychedelic Smiles' are precious as is Johanna's girl posing and twirling in her blue+green colorblocked dress. Love Jo's star-print shirtdress and it looks cool with the white Adidas.
Sandy and her daughter Vivian are matching head to toe, in their soft cream 'Floral Maxi Dresses' and camel boots. I love, love, love!

In March you will see a lot more pink and florals from Vivian and I to honor Spring but also lots of green for Saint Patrick's. =) Stay tuned!

Currently, March 2017.

It feels like I just wrote my last currently post, just the other day. In actuality, it hasn't even been 4 weeks. February proved to be the super short month it always is. It definitely felt like it. I blinked and bam, it is gone (one more day). The first Wednesday of each month, ANNE of Anne In Residence hosts this fun monthly linkup called "Currently". She comes up with 5 prompts (verbs) of what we are up to for that particular month and below I have March's edition.

Before I go ahead with the prompts, I want to add a few goals to these monthly posts. I didn't make any New Year's resolutions which is good but I do want to accomplish some things/goals each month. For March I want to:

- get my taxes done and sent.
- spent very little or no money on myself. My closet only needs about 3 things (a pair of mules, skinny black jeans and a blue denim jacket), so no need to spend on other unnecessary things.
- finish the 2 books I have already started to read and start and finish a third book.
- read more books to Vivian.
- work on finding a pre-school for Vivian that she can go for at least 2 or 3 days a week.

watching: Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, The Bachelor and When We Rise (starting today). I am slowly watching "The Fosters" on Netflix too. But it isn't as exciting as it used to be. What shows are you guys watching and what do you suggest I watch next? Let me know and I appreciate it.

eating: Greek yogurt or cottage cheese with chopped fresh fruit like strawberries, blueberries and pears (or sometimes canned peaches). Actually I just ate that for dinner tonight too (just minutes prior to writing this post). My breakfast or dinner usually consists of what I just mentioned. For lunch I have a variety of things: soups, salads, beef, fish, chicken, sandwiches, pitas and wraps.

saying: that I won't spend any money and the next thing I know, I am shopping my heart out. Target gets me all the time, they have great things. Also Loft has had some very cute things for Spring and I want so many of them. I really hope to change that in March. As I mentioned above, one of my March goals is not to shop and if I do just for the items I need.

wearing: Skinny Jeans and Light Sweaters or Leggings and Light Sweaters - this is usually my 'uniform' this day. Another 'uniform' I have worn and you have seen a lot of is a long-sleeve dress with tights and booties. As fas as accessorizing with jewelry, these days I am all about tassel earrings and dainty necklaces. Plu, even if you combine the two, they don't take from each other's spotlight.

posting: (on the blog) mostly Outfit Posts as you all know. But I want to start writing more lifestyle posts. For example, I want to focus on some of the few recipes I know and cook well and (very late but still) do the recap post for Vivian's 4th birthday. Maybe once a month too I will do an Instagram-related post which will be compiled of some of the photos I have lately posted on Instagram, which usually has different content than my blog. Speaking of Instagram, I want to post flat-lays and some of the OOTDs that never make it on the blog, but I need a selfie stick.

For March, I will be styling some 'Greenery' on the blog, using both old, very old and new items I own in green which is the color of the year. It is also the color of March with St. Patrick's day less than three weeks away. Some of these will be Mommy+Mini posts. For now, let's see what I posted the last couple of years and my reflections on each outfit. =)

In this post I shared two casual outfits I had worn on Valentine's Day weekend. I am not sure the outfit above worked. I don't hate it but I definitely don't love it. I am not sure the Light Tan Color works with the Darker Gray, but I do love my Tan Velvet Blazer (wish I had it here) and I love that Gray Tee with an Embellished Stone Neckline. I think a Cream or White Tee (even a graphic white tee) would have looked better since my pants were a light color (they are a blush with a Vintage Rose Pattern). Last but not least, I shouldn't have worn those Black Leather Booties. I should have gone with Camel or Light Tan Booties or Loafers instead. So yeah even-though I don't have most of these pieces here, I would not re-create this outfit.

Look at all this snow we had last year in February, definitely not the case this February. The outfit above is one I would indeed re-create and re-wear, with the same LBD or any other LBD in my closet. All black with a Black+White Zebra Coat is always stylish. Since the coat makes a statement and definitely stands out, keeping it all black - not just the dress - was a great idea. But if you notice closely, my tights have this sort of Mosaic Pattern but since they are also black, they doesn't clash with the Zebra Coat. Ohh and I was wearing Black Leather Booties with heels.

Academy Awards 2017, biggest trends and hits.

So, I started thinking of and writing this post on Friday. But you know I have a life besides blogging, too. Plus, these posts are time consuming, sorry. As we all know the 89th Academy Awards or Oscars are on this Sunday February 26th. It is by far the biggest and most important red carpet of the year. I am sure all the stars (at least a huge majority) will look glamorous, beautiful and stylish. Over the last few years I have recapped some of the major fashion award shows with my favorite and least favorite looks, like the Golden Globes, the Emmy's, the Grammy's and the Oscars. I have fallen very behind this year, clearly, but you will see these recap posts popping up here in the next few weeks.

'Greenery' being the color of the year we will see a lot of dresses in Green at the Oscars. From Citrusy Lime and Seafoam to Emerald, Deep Forest or Teal, we will see green make a huge comeback.

Another huge trend will be Metallics. Gold, Silver, Pewter, Bronze or even Metallic Shades of jewel tones like brown, blue, purple, pearl and green will be huge hits this year.

In my opinion, another huge bold color we will see a lot of, will be Red. So many starlets don't shy away from red on Oscar's big night. I had my own red carpet moment and shared a red gown outfit suitable for the Oscars, in my latest Thursday Moda post which was my one year celebratory linkup. Did you catch it?! I predict a sea of red dresses this year, too.

I don't think we will see a lot of Black Gowns this year but there will still be quite a few. I bet some of them will be head-turning with intricate details like Lace, Sparkle, Sequins, Colorblocked with white or even Embroidered. Embroidery is huge this Spring season in fashion. Mark my words we will see some embroidery.

Last but not least I still think Blush or Rose Quartz will be a major hit on the red carpet this year. It was last year's Pantone color and also a color we saw the stars wear a lot of. But if you pay attention Blush Pink has been on every runaway, magazine, store, red carpet, etc. lately.

Thursday Moda #52: One Year Celebration continues with a Collaboration.

Welcome to the 52nd Thursday Moda linkup, yes it has been a year! Hooray! Thank you all for making this linkup super fun and bringing your awesome sense of style each week (while inspiring me along the way), by linking up. If you stopped by yesterday, you know that I started the celebration early. My mini me and I coordinated our outfits complete with Fresh Flowers and all. Vivi stole the blog, as always. Today, I am continuing the celebration but I am totally getting all fancy on you. I am sharing a Stunning Red Gown I recently received via "Places to Go" - a local boutique here in Michigan. It came at the perfect time because it was 'the dress' to style for my one year anniversary of Thursday Moda.

To help me celebrate today I got together 9 beautiful ladies who have their own style blogs. They also got dressed up and in spirit are celebrating with me today - I cannot thank them enough. Each outfit is so different from the next - they all have very different styles - but they look equally amazing. Below in the post you will get to see every outfit up close and I listed these lovely fashion bloggers in the chronological order that I have gotten to know them through blogging. With most of them I have had the lovely opportunity to collaborate with, before. Pop by their blogs and take a look at their outfits, too! =)

So I mentioned this Beautiful Red Gown (my favorite color and it is just right to wear it today in celebration of one year of Thursday Moda) was gifted to me c/o "Places to Go". They also included these Gorgeous Block Heel Sandals on the package and let me tell you they made the perfect fancy duo combined with the fancy red dress. This lovely boutique sent me a few other things and you will get to see those on the blog in the upcoming weeks. I had received this package close to Christmas but I 'saved' it to style these pieces for today. I amped up the volume with an arm party, a few semi-dainty rings, some fabulous statement earrings which have stones in burgundy, gray and olive green and my most favorite red lipstick (this one). I am carrying a little fan-shaped maroon clutch that I have had in my closet forever. It is from Old Navy just like yesterday's Fabulous Red Fur Bag. And yes I put my hair up (though it was difficult because it is still a pretty short bob) but a few bobby pins helped for a tiny bun, which I accessorized with a red polka dot bow barrette. Oh and my new marble sunglasses match the marble face of my watch. I got them both very recently for a steal at Wet Seal (they are closing their stores) so they had some fantastic sales.

(Let's get this party started, ladies!)
