What to Wear to a Fall Wedding - 2016 edition.

Today, I am joined by 5 of my blogging friends across the world, to present you the first of a series of posts all about "What to Wear to a Wedding". And since Thanksgiving is this upcoming Thursday and we still have about one month till Winter is officially here, we will show you 6 different styles, 6 different outfits, 6 different interpretations of a Fall Wedding. So read on... and be inspired!

Nina from Spain, blogs at A World of Dresses.
Ada from Michigan USA, blogs at Elegance and Mommyhood.
Linda from Ontario Canada, blogs at A Labour of Life.
Kristin from Germany, blogs at Countdown to Friday.
Shelbee from New York USA, blogs at Shelbee on the Edge.
Roxanne from Washington DC US, blogs at Glass of Glam.

I noticed that there were lots of jewel tones, especially rich dark blue and some black that we all wore. Every lady looks great and everyone looks so different still. But I noticed my outfit has at least one similar element from each of the ladies's Fall Wedding Looks. Like Nina and Linda, I have on a Statement Necklace. Like Linda, I have on a Black Moto Leather Jacket. Like Kristin I have on Strappy Black Stiletto Sandals. Like Shelbee I have on a Patterned Dress and a Clutch that matches my dress. Like both Roxanne and Nina, I have a Bow Sash (that comes with the dress) that cinches the waist. Like Roxanne, my dress has big Billowing Sleeves and I wore a Crystal Necklace. And like both Kristin and Roxanne, my dress is in a Midnight Blue. What can I say?! That great minds think alike!

I actually attended two weddings in the Fall, one in early October (you can see a picture of that on my Instagram) and one in mid November. The weather was around 70 degrees for both. So yes, both times the dresses I wore didn't require hosiery or tights. I have actually purchased this Blue+White Flowy Dress from Old Navy some months ago but never worn it before. I love two details on it: the Kimono Sleeves and the Pleated Boning on the front (chest area). As soon as I put it on I knew I wanted to wear my New Faux Leather Black Moto Jacket on top (I scored for about 35% off during Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale). My new Rocksbox this last time had 3 gorgeous pieces of jewelry in it, all in gold tones. The Intricate Crystal Necklace, Pave Jacket Earrings and Geometric Cuff went so well together. I decided to be bold and also wore my Mixed-Metal Chevron Long Necklace with it. I love how the gold jewelry picks up the yellow from the fun tassel of the clutch. Speaking of the clutch, the blue+white pattern of it couldn't go with the dress more perfectly. Lastly, I chose these Ankle Bow Suede Stiletto Sandals in black to match my black jacket. And what dresses up a Wedding Look more than Red Lipstick? I put two coats of my favorite Red Lipstick with one coat of this Nude Lipgloss which I love. Did you attend any weddings this Fall and what did you wear?!

  4. Like that you added a leather jacket because it would be super cold here without one, even for a wedding. And the shoes are amazing as you already know!

  5. What a great idea Ada, my faves were: Shelby, Roxanne and Linda.
I've attended 2 fall weddings and am usually freezing because I refuse to cover up.

  6. I absolutely love those bow heels! I have seen them on Pinterest and they are so great for weddings and this upcoming holiday season. I'm sure you will get plenty of wear out of them. And how funny that we would both wear Betseyville shoes for this collaboration?!
Your leather jacket gives this outfit major edge and I really want a similar one!
Thanks so much for inviting me to collaborate and for all the hard work you put into organizing it. Have a great Thanksgiving :)

    1. I still think it is pretty dressy/fancy. The material and style and the pleated front of the dress make it pretty dressy and the jewelry I chose does too. It can also work for a more casual wedding. If the attire is black tie this wouldn't work but for a cocktail wear attire, yes.
