Camel and Mauve.

Sometimes I surprise myself when I put together an outfit or color combination, by how well it works and how great it looks. That is how I feel about both today's outfit and the combination of Camel with Mauve (which I hadn't tried before, but love it). This exact shade of mauve is between a blush pink and a lilac and the camel is soft and neutral enough, not too dark so the two colors work together so well. And even-though I color-blocked two colors here, since I have on 2 different shades of camel (from the waist down) and 3 shades of mauve (from the waist up, including my beaded clutch) it is still a very soft and feminine monochromatic look. And I wore this outfit to work the day after I cut my hair in late October. I was doing my part in wearing Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness, still.

This Faux Suede Wrap Skirt is amazing. I walked into Express a few weeks ago (hadn't been there since August when my sister in law was in town) and I picked up this skirt, a cropped sweater, a blouse and a camisole for less than $70 total. There were only two skirts left like this, one in a size 4 and one in an 8. I usually wear a 4 at Express and most brands (sometimes a 6) but I picked it up and the 4 looked like a 00. This skirt runs very small. The 8 fit me perfectly. I had seen either this skirt or something very similar on the always posh Sheree before and I loved this skirt and how she had styled hers so far too. I thanked my lucky stars the day I found this at Express. The blouse I purchased during Nordstrom's big anniversary sale. I had looked for a while for a pink or red-tone chambray shirt. This one is not chambray, rather a very light linen but it satisfies what I was looking for. I love that it is an easy popover and a tunic length. I wore this same blouse with jeans later that day (after work) when I had a date with Viv (you can see it on my Insta). The blouse paired perfectly with the Soft Pink Colorblocked Buffalo Plaid Blanket Scarf I purchased at the end of the Winter season, also from Nordstrom. The clutch I have had forever and the shoes are a few years old, too. I wanted all the clothes and accessories to take center stage so besides a few rings and a very simple Bracelet Cuff, I have on Simple Asymmetric Druzy Studs, that's it. What do you think of this outfit and this color combination? Something you have tried too?
