Thursday Moda #28 with my Sister in Law, in Royal Oak.

Happy Thursday everyone - the 2nd one of September as hard as it is for me to type this because I cannot believe it. Christmas is not too far away. Yes, I said it. Welcome to another Stylish Thursday Moda where today I have a very special co-host (sort of) whom I have known since she was 17, my sister in law. As you know she visited us in Michigan the first couple of weeks in August. Today's post and photos are perfect as a salude to Throwback Thursday since they were taken exactly a month ago, in the beautiful city of Royal Oak, Michigan - a city known for its down-town and life, filled with lots of bars, restaurants, a few fun boutiques and even an old-fashioned movie theater.

Royal Oak was the first city we visited, less than 48 hours after she got here, on her first weekend to Michigan. It is hands-down one of my favorite towns in Michigan and if you ever visit MI, I suggest you add it to your must-visit list. We did a little shopping at a boutique there called Pitaya which has young, on-trend clothes for very reasonable prices. The double-buckle belt that I added to my dress was actually purchased the day of that trip (Pitaya was our first stop) and I put it around my waist right away. It worked well with the dress since it was loose. The blue-mirrored sunglasses my sister in law is wearing were purchased on that trip too. I also bought a ring and sunglasses and she bought a new outfit and a bracelet for me.

I ended up wearing yet another (new) Hi-Lo Dress I purchased this Summer from Target (their Merona brand). This tank dress is stylish, comfortable and pretty. I love the vivid blues in that beautiful floral mosaic print, paired with some olive (which matched my Olive Sandals, well). I added a couple of Glass-Beaded Blue Bracelets, Blue Pearl Cluster Earrings and my Navy Blue Cross-body Bag from Loft which worked perfect. I think my sister-in-law's dark Gray Slip Dress is from Mango, the Cognac Cross-body from Zara, the Sunglasses and Earrings brand new purchased that day at Pitaya. If you live or have visited Michigan before, have you ever been to Royal Oak?! What did you think?

We ended up going to a Spanish tapas/small plates Bar and Cafe called "La Dulce" where we ordered cocktails and a couple of small plates. My semi-sweet (pink) drink was so good and paired very well with the salty+spicy plate of olives and peppers.

For this week, my favorites were all over the place. And I am sorry this post is late this morning but oh well. Between transitioning-to-Fall Outfits, pretty Florals and Gorgeous Maxis, I was in love with the Favorite 6 Looks below. You all brought your A game last week. How does one choose from 113 outfits?
Her 'Romper Room' gained a new one. This Deep Bourdeaux Floral one will be a great piece for Fall, for the lovely Jennie. Love those Platform Wedges.
Emma's OTS Top has fun straps but it is those 'Flower Sunglasses' and Camel Cross-Body Bag with Bright Neon Green Stripes that steal the deal, for me.
Marta fooled me with this 'Maxi Skirt Two-Piece Set'. The print and style of the skirt is fabulous and reminds me of my dress, today.
Kileen's 'Yellow Florals + Strappy Heels' adding the Fun and Elegant Floppy Hat, resulted in a Feminine, Fabulous and Colorful Outfit suited for an Outdoor Summer Wedding.
Andrea linked two outfits but this Fall-transitional 'What's Up Wednesday' look was my favorite of the two. She convinced me that I need Red Glossy Rain Boots.
Dana added 'The Gold Flats' to a Classic Blue Striped Fit+Flare Dress. Simple, slightly nautical and very Americana.

  5. I have never heard of Royal Oak before. It sounds simply amazing! I always hear those Tim Allen commercials on the radio talking about Pure Michigan ... maybe that's because I live in Ohio and they think we're a good group to market to since were right next door. Anyway, looks like you two had fun!
