Black Dress and Blue Panama Hat.

TGIF. My last Friday and last weekend here, for quite a while. It is July 31st and I am hardly believing July is over. I am so looking forward to August though, what is left of Summer and my time close to my family and parents. It will be a very busy upcoming month though. And besides today there might be one or two outfit posts from me, then next week and the week after that, I have a New Guest Blogger almost daily. They are all bloggers I follow and read if not daily, weekly, so make sure you welcome them and check out their blogs. Thank you.

This Summer I have taken several Dresses (even dressier, fancy types) and styled them casually. While this Little Ponte Black Dress is pretty casual, the Latisse Halter Neckline and Classic Shape make it dressy enough that if styled right can be worn to work, a cocktail party, and even a wedding. Putting a Summery casual spin to this dress I simply paired it with my Blue+Tan Panama Hat, matchy Blue Button Earrings and little Gold Ballet Flats and I was done. What do you think? Also, today I am Guest Posting for the Lovely Rachel of Garay Treasures while she is on Vacation. There I show you another way and another dress (a little bit on the dressier side) dressed down for Summer.  You can read that post here.

Guest Post: Jill on Pinterest-Inspired Looks with a Chambray Shirt.

Today, I have Jill whose favorite color is Pink (and it looks great on her with her blonde hair). Jill's blog is mostly focused on Style and Beauty but she does some DIY and Food posts every now and then giving us fun+easy projects and recipes. I particularly love her Ipsy Bag reviews and her casual yet very put-together style, perfect for her work-from-home job in Chicago - one of the best cities ever. I especially love Jill's Pinterest-inspired style posts and that what she is focusing on today. Also on Thursdays she does a weekly link-up called "Thursday Fashion Files" (today actually) which she co-hosts with Carrie.

Hello Elegance & Mommyhood Readers! I'm Jill from Doused in Pink and I'm so happy to be guest posting today while Ada is on vacation! I have known Ada for over a year in blogsphere and love her fun, positive outlook and the fabulous outfits she creates! Today is all about Pin-Spired looks! Pinterest is always a great source to spark creativity when I'm not sure how to style an outfit. If you are new to using Pinterest, keep in mind that you don't have to match an outfit exactly. Use it to get ideas to style what you already have. Today's pins all revolve around the must have chambray shirt! All of my recreations are with things I already had in my closet.

I myself love a Light-wash Chambray Shirt like Jill's so this post was definitely inspirational to me. Jill always does a great job putting her own spin into looks she pins. She creates similar outfits yet still mantains her own style. Thanks again Jill.

Guest Post: Anna and her Pregnancy Style.

Hello Guys. Can you believe that July is almost over?! It has been an absolutely crazy busy month and August will be so busy for me, as well. Welcome to my series of Guest Posts for this Summer. For the next couple of weeks, you will see mostly Guest Bloggers here. I will still make a couple of appearances and show you a few more of my own outfits, but note that I am scheduling ahead all the posts so I won't be around much to comment or read your blogs. Thanks for understanding.

For any of you who have followed my blog for a long while, you know that I have often showed you guys fellow mommy-to-be or pregnant mommy bloggers whose blogs I follow and whose styles I truly like. Today I am inviting a personal favorite. Anna is due any day now with her baby girl. She also has a toddler boy, around the same age as Vivian. She dressed her bump beautifully the first time around and she did it again during her second pregnancy. Her style is feminine, elegant, chic and modest. She always looks great, on top of being gorgeous.

Hello there! I'm Anna from Happy Medley and I blog about style, life, recipes my family and a few DIYs. Being pregnant definitely stretched my imagination in terms of getting dressed.

While pregnant I love to wear dresses for any and every occasion, especially when dressing up. They make me feel pretty and feminine, accentuating the belly. Let's face it, there aren't that many cute skirts on the market (if any) in the maternity department but there are plenty of dresses. Plus, sizing up and getting something stretchy goes a long ways for mixing and matching clothes while sporting some cute bump style.

All my casual outfits consist of maternity jeans or shorts, and some kind of top. I love all my maternity jeans and the fact that I didn't have to struggle with the band and my regular clothes. I love wearing dresses with flats and sometimes dress up simple jeans with heels. Hope you enjoy my outfits and draw some inspiration for yourself. Stop by and say hi over at Happy Medley Blog!

Anna sure looked chic and beautiful while pregnant. I love her Dress Collection. Love the first three outfits (from the dressed up portion). I hope she inspired any of you mommies-to-be out there!

A Flavorful Salami Pasta Dish.

Happy Hump Day you All!! I haven't shared many recipes on this blog of mine. I do not cook every day, neither do I consider myself a great cook. I can make a few dishes though, especially pasta dishes. Most of my dishes are trial and error. I usually make my own recipes and that's the case today and let me tell you this pasta dish tasted delicious. Everyone enjoyed it. Even Vivian had some and my little girl is such a bad and picky eater, also.

Ingredients (including the ones for the sauce) for a 2-person serving:

- Rigatoni Pasta (a 16 oz pack).
-Spicy Beef Salami or Spicy Beef Sausage (1 large piece about 7-8 oz).
- Tomato Sauce (about 6 oz).
- Buffalo Cream Cheese (about 4-5 oz).
- A Whole Tomato (medium-sized).
- Fresh Dill (a small bundle, about 2 oz).
- Butter (a tablespoon).
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil (2 tablespoons).
- Salt (a pinch)
- Black Pepper (a pinch).

First I boiled the rigatoni al dente, for about 6-7 minutes total. I added a tablespoon or soup spoon of butter to the pot after the water got hot, right before I added the rigatoni. Then I drained the water, of course. While the pasta was boiling, I started making my sauce in a large pan. I used fresh organic tomato paste to which I added the cream cheese (note: I used firm buffalo cream cheese). Then I added a tablespoon of EVOO to the sauce I was preparing. I stirred them together while they were woking in the pan. At this point, I had already cut my tomato into little cubes, a few minutes after woking the sauce in my pan, I added the tomato cubes to the sauce I was making using the tomato paste, cream cheese and EVOO. I also added a little bit of salt and pepper to the sauce mix. I then added a little bit of dill (chopped in very fine pieces) and the spicy salami which I had cut into little cubes. I kept stirring well, still woking my sauce in the pan. The whole time to make the sauce took about 12-16 minutes, depending on how hot your stove is. You have to make sure you stir it well and are there the whole time so nothing sticks to the pan. If you need to add more olive oil, do so.

After that I took my sauce and put it onto a larger deep pan and I added my boiled rigatoni pasta to it. I mixed the pasta well into the sauce and let it over my hot stove together (while I was stirring with a big spoon) for another 4-5 minutes. As I added my pasta, I also added my second spoon of EVOO, a little bit more dill and some more salt and pepper. I also added a tiny bit more of  the buffalo cream cheese. I mixed them altogether till the whole texture looked creamy and a little redish-pink since my sauce was made using both tomato paste and white cream cheese on it. After I let the dish cool off a little bit, I put it into two bowls and I added a tiny pinch of black pepper on top and a little dill on the middle of the dish to dress up the dish a little.

Now you can totally tweak this recipe a bit or change it to your likings. You can make it vegan by using entirely EVOO, no cream cheese and no meat (salami). You can make it vegetarian minus the meat. You can substitute the salami for spicy or regular sausage which don't have to be beef: they could be pork, chicken or turkey sausages. You can make it with grilled chicken breast pieces, tuna, pepperoni or grilled salmon pieces instead. Also, to make it spicier than mine you could add red pepper or hot sauce to it. You could also use organic or gluten-free pasta. It doesn't have to be rigatoni either: pene, shell-shaped or farfalle pasta work just as good. If your kid prefers the regular spaghetti and you want them to eat it, by all means use spaghetti. My husband doesn't eat very spicy foods and I wanted Vivian to try the dish also, so my dish was very mildly spicy. Also, if you don't like dill you could use parsley, kale or a different herb for flavor.

This dish was easy to make, pretty healthy for a pasta dish since it wasn't very rich and full of flavor, It is kid-friendly too since most kids love pasta and my Vivian likes pasta also. She also loves sausage, for that matter, Let me know how it turns out for you if you try it.

Flirty Skirts of Summer - Part Two.

Yesterday I shared with you ladies a couple of Flirty Skirts I have been wearing this Summer. Today I am sharing more Fun Flirty Summer Skirts. While yesterday my Skirts were in a Floral Print today the Prints are more Unique. The First Skirt is sort of an Artsy, Abstract White+Red+Navy Blue, while the second skirt is in a Geometric Black+White. I shared the second B+W Skirt last week where I paired it with a Navy Floral Blouse and you (and I both) all seemed to love that outfit - Thank You. Today's Skirts have pockets also, which I love.

My Sister-in-Law handed this Skirt to me last week and I wore it the very next day. It was a little small on her. I love that it is 100% Silk but a washable silk at that. Plus it has pockets - who doesn't love pockets?! The Abstract Navy/White/Red Print is fun too and these Patriotic Colors make it nice to pair with other Red and White pieces for let's say Memorial Day or the 4th of July. This time I paired it with a White Tank Top in a Sweetheart Neckline. It looked so pretty with it and it kind of looks like a one-piece Dress, no? I added a Red Beaded, Multi-Strand Necklace, a couple of Dainty Fine Jewelry Bracelets, a White Cocktail Ring and bottomed it off with my Beaded Silver Sandals. These Sandals have a little wedge to them - I love them. They have been on repeat this Summer.
Sterling Silver Tennis Bracelet w/ Light Green Sapphire Stones + little Diamonds: JC Penney's (similar, fine jewelry option, Splurge, my favorite), (similar, great deal), (similar w/ blue topaz stones & diamond accents, best deal, love this).

Black Floral, Wayfarer Sunglasses: Random Street Vendor for 2$! (New) (similar Wayfarer, best deal), (retro option by Chic Nova, love these), (similar Wayfarer in pink floral, love these).

My Favorite B+W Skirt makes another appearance this week and I paired it with a White Camisole which has a Black Paisely Print and a little Lace Trim. I find Black+White Prints the easiest to mix together when you pattern-mix, what about you? I went for a Sporty yet Girly look since I paired White Converse Sneakers with a one-strand Pearl Necklace. I ended up loving it. I actually wore this Outfit earlier today. See, even my Hair is Black+White LOL. Wednesday cannot get here soon enough for my hair appointment where I will cover my gray roots. They need to be covered badly, but I have been so busy with packing, cleaning, organizing, boxing things and also scheduling posts ahead for this little blog of mine while I am gone and traveling.
