The 6 Remix: Floral Skirt Collaboration styled for Spring.

The 6 Remix is back. It looks like I am keeping up with it every other month and I tell you it is way more fun when I collaborate with others, like I did in March when Carrie and I showed you 3 ways each to style our Puffer Vests for Winter. Speaking of Carrie, I will be co-hosting with her and Jill tomorrow for the Thursday Fashion Files so welcome by and link up. This time I am paired up with JULIE from Artwork by JM. She is mamma to a toddler girl like myself. As a matter of fact, her daughter Paige is exactly one month younger than my daughter Vivian. Julie's blog is a life+style one, mostly focusing on her lovely, easy-chic personal style. Julie and I are showing you 3 different occasions/places to wear a Floral Pencil Skirt for Spring. It is a perfect mid-week post during my lovely 35th birthday week. =) Speaking of Birthdays, Happy Birthday to my Husband today. Yes, our birthdays are two days apart.

Now, let's look at my Outfits up close.

We are each showing a Casual, a Work and a Mother's Day Brunch Look with our Pencil Skirts. This is my Casual Outfit and the one I wore first. I styled my one and only Pastel-colored Floral Pencil Skirt (also casually) not too long ago and I paired it with the same Slip-on Floral Sneakers which match the skirt perfectly. A few days later I reached for these two pieces again and this time I wore a White Scoop-neck Tee and a Gray Cardigan belted with a Wide Cognac Belt. I was wearing this last month during my 10 remix so the Coral Necklace (which matches all the coral here, perfectly) was part of my top 10 items. I twisted the Coral Necklace with a Silver Mesh Necklace for a 2-in-1 look. I did add a third floral in the mix with these Cute Sunglasses. I ended up liking this casual look a lot, what about you?
Silver Rope, Sparkly, Collar Necklace w/ Floating Silver Pave Crystal Ring: A Random Boutique (very similar, fine jewelry, Splurge, love this), (similar sterling silver option, fantastic deal), (black+silver option by F21, best deal, love this).
Tiny, Real Gold Hoops w/ Real Diamonds: A Fine Jewelry Store (gifted from the husband) (very similar, Splurge). (very similar, Steal), (similar gorgeous option by Judith Ripka, great deal, love these).
Neon Orange+Gold Twisted Bangle (part of a 3-piece set): A Random Local Boutique.

This is my Work Look which I actually wore to work on my birthday a couple of days ago. I paired the Skirt with a Chambray Shirt which has tiny anchors on it, thus creating a bit of pattern-mixing. I also wore one of Work MVPs which are the Nude Pumps, an Aqua Briolette Statement Necklace, my current Favorite Handbag (this Blue+Cherry Red Cross-body) and I wore my new Circle-Frame Sunglasses. A Chic Work Outfit with some closet basics, don't you think? I did receive many compliments on this, also.
Mint, Briolette Statement Necklace w/ Mint Stones & Silver Cubic Zirconia Stones: Forever 21 (similar by Kate Spade, great deal, love this), (similar by Charter Club, best deal, love this), (similar, tiered briolette option, fantastic deal).
Circle, Silver Frame, Dark Gray Sunglasses: A Random Boutique (New) (very similar, Splurge), (similar, Steal).

This final look is my Mother's Day Brunch Look which I just styled for the blog but I do have a brunch to go to this Sunday and I plan on wearing this Outfit, except with a Turquoise Statement Necklace instead. The big Pearl+Black Flower Necklace I ended up choosing felt a little too bulky and heavy with the girly, ruffled shell. I do like all the girly bracelets I added though and how I mixed+matched different shades of coral from the darkest to the lightest (pumps, clutch, top, skirt). These Valentino-inspired Pumps were a little early Birthday Gift from me to me. They are not too high and they are pretty comfy. What do you think of this outfit for a Mother's Day Brunch? I wanted to feel dressy and feminine but not business-y.
Black Beaded and Ivory Pearl, Cluster Flower Necklace on Thick Gold Chain: A Local Accessories Boutique (gorgeous option by Betsey Johnson, love this), (similar by WHBM, great deal), (gorgeous option by Guess, fantastic deal, love this).
Gold-Tone Chain Bracelet w/ Little Pearls & Enamel Flower Charms: A Local Accessories Boutique (gorgeous option, Splurge), (fun, gorgeous option by Betsey Johnson, best deal love this), (gold, floral cuff option by Betsey Johnson, great deal, love this).
Lavender+White, Lucite Beaded Bracelet w/ Stripes+Dots: Borrowed from Sister-in-Law (she has received it as a Gift from me).

Here are all my outfits next to each other. I love the work look but I also love the brunch look though I would change to a simpler necklace, probably in turquoise. I didn't mean to do statement necklaces with all but rather than that, they are all quite different. Which is your favorite?

Here are Julie's Outfits side by side. I love her Red Rose Pencil Skirt and because it has a black background it looks great with Black Shoes especially those Classic Black Pumps. My favorite look of hers is the Work Outfit.

P.S. Linking up with Alice, Alison, Allison, Brooke, Carrie with Jill, Elizabeth, Linda, Lisa,
Also linking up with Maegen and Jana because yesterday's theme for the Creative Closet was "Trusted Chambray".
Happy Hump Day You All!

  4. I love the beautiful floral print of both of your skirts! Of your looks, I think I like the first one the best! I like how you wore mostly neutrals and let the skirt shine. I also really like that you thought to mix floral prints with your skirt and your shoes! Very creative, as usual!
