I AM BEAUTIFUL!!!

Good Morning. I snapped these 3 photos today on March 5th just this morning (it is still March 4th over there) around 7.45 AM this morning, just to link up with AGI for her Unique "I am Beautiful Link Up" where she challenges us bloggers to post some up close photos of ourselves without any makeup on. So all you see is me after washing my face and my teeth this morning and after a soft brushing of my hair. I am even in my soft Purple Terrycloth Robe.

But truth me told, I don't always wear makeup whether it is in real life or in/for the blog. After all, the Outfits I show you here are my actual, Real-Life Outfits or what I style for Fashion Challenges. I was brave and showed you guys 3 photos, one of me smiling, one of me with a serious face and a profile one. I will tell you what though, I may look tired because I am. This is my 4th night on very little sleep where I wake up every 20-40 minutes because of Vivian. I don't know if it is because of teething or she sees nightmares or gets scared, but she wakes up very often crying, so I have to wake up as often as she does, comfort her and take care of her.

Anyway, I have never viewed myself as Beautiful, most times not even as Pretty. I certainly do not think I am Ugly or a bad sight for the eye, but beautiful is too far. However my husband tells me I am beautiful all the time. When I am all dressed up, when I have on a great outfit, when I feel comfortable in my clothes, when I see my daughter laugh or smile, when I see her cuddle me and love on me, when my husband kisses me, when he compliments me and especially when I am happy, these are all times when I feel beautiful, really beautiful. Despite my big nose (which I used to be very self-conscious about) and the pretty-big birthmark one one side of my nose tip, despite some of my hair standing funky on top of my forehead, despite not having the longest eyelashes or the most plump lips. I am who I am and who I am meant to be. I am beautiful in my own way. =) And that is fine with me.
Agi shared this video with us when she announced her Link Up. It is basically an experiment done on 4 regular women, who are of different ages and social backgrounds, no models or actresses. It is a video about embracing who you are physically, flaws and qualities you may have. We are who God made us to be and what we are supposed to be: gray hair, freckles, crazy hair, chiseled chin, squinty eyes, thick eyebrows, small eyes, big eyes, hairy skin, birthmarks, black, white, yellow, whatever your "flaw" may be. Yes getting your hair and makeup done, doing facials and/or pampering yourself is good for your mind, your body & your soul as well as your physical well-being but no Photoshop in the world can take the place of your true self, or change the real face you expose to the world every single day. This video makes me embrace my flaws and think that I am beautiful on my own way and I want my daughter to grow up and take this positive message with her too. I want her to grow up to be a strong and positive woman and feel beautiful not because of how she looks on the outside, but because of how she feels on the inside. After all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Because in this world of smoke and mirrors, the most beautiful thing of all should be your heart!

P.S. Also linking up with Nicole & the Ladies for Beauty Buzz.
And I will be back later tonight for an OOTD Post.

  7. You are beautiful Ada! I think we all are a little too hard on ourselves sometimes (for example, I disliked how much my ears stuck out that I spent most of my teenage years refusing to pull my hair back!), but you're such a wonderful mother for making it a priority to raise your daughter to have confidence in her beauty!
