Mom's Winter Must Haves: Patterned and Colored Tights.

LAURA from I Do CeClaire and I are back again for another edition of Mom's Winter Must Haves. This week our Winter Must Have would be Colored and Patterned Tights. As we all know Tights are very important to keep pur legs warm, in the Winter. But Nice Patterns or Fun (not Neutral) Colors can make an Outfit extra special and quite interesting, rather than boring. At least that's what we think.
Week one Laura and I styled Cozy Sweaters and Sweater Dresses, week two we styled Puffer Vests, week three we styled Fair Isle, week four we styled Bold Coats and Knit Hats/Headbands and week five we styled Infinity Scarves and Long Necklaces. This is our 6th week and next week we have the 7th and last week of this Winter Series. We are letting you know that next Wednesday's Finale includes Leggings and Boots as our Must Haves. And you all can be part of it as well. We thought as a Great End to a Great Long Series, to do a link up. So all of you are welcome to join in next week and link your Outfits with Laura and I, featuring either Leggings or Boots. With the sharp, cold Winter that USA is having, I think this won't be so hard. =)

Laura thought Skirts with Belts this week and she always looks great in Skirts, being fit and having fabulous, slim legs. For the Patterned Tights she might be wearing Black ones but look at the intricate detail and nice texture they have. She paired them with a Flirty Skater Style Black Skirt, a Black+White Striped Sweater, a Colorful Coral Scarf circled around her Neck and last but not least with go-with-everything Cognac Boots which also match that Belt perfectly. For the Colored Tights, hers are Purple and the little Skinny Purple Belt ties in nicely. The rest of her Outfit is mostly Black, with the exception of the Chambray Shirt. While this look is quite Monochromatic, it is a great Outfit for Work since she chose a Pencil Skirt & a V-Neck Sweater as the main two pieces. To check out the details on each Outfit check out Today's Post on Laura's Blog.

Before I get to My Outfit, let's address the Christmas Tree for a minute. I am one of those people who keeps their tree up till January. My Tree only came down sometime last week. I still have many Outfits from January to show you on this blog and a couple of nice ones from December, so please bear with the Christmas Tree. I bet by the time February rolls, you won't see it anymore (hopefully lol). For the Patterned Tights Outfit, mine are a Print. These are thick, Knit Tights featuring Horizontal Stripes in a bunch of Neutral/Fall Colors like Gray, Black, Camel, Beige and Burgundy. I wore these with my Gray Cowl-neck Sweater Dress (featuring a Cable Knit Pattern on the front), layered with my Black Military Blazer and a Long Crystal Necklace with Green, Gold & Yellow Stones. Looking back through my archives, I wore this Dress really similarly last time: Blazer, Long Necklace, Tights and Flat Mid-Calf Boots. And I was 9 months pregnant then. As for today, when you wear a Warm Knit Dress, a Blazer and Knit Tights tucked into Boots, a Fleece Jacket keeps you sufficiently warm for going outside. Am I right? Plus the Fleece Jacket's Gray is almost identical to the Gray of the Dress. This ended up being an Outfit that is quite Monochromatic, no? How do you like this Casual but Put-together Outfit? Would you wear Tights like mine or are they too much?
Black, Cotton Blazer w/ Mandarin Collar & Military-Style, Silver Buttons: White House Black Market.
Gray, Short-Sleeve, Cable-Knit, Sweater Dress: Line 1900 (this is basically a line of stores in Tirana, where everything equals 19$.)
Gray, Zippered, Fleece Jacket: Aeropostale.

Silver+Clear, Oval-Stone Dangly Earrings: White House Black Market.

For this second Outfit, the Tights are my New Hunter Green ones that I featured on Yesterday's Post as well. They are the little pop of Color this otherwise (mostly) Black+White Outfit needed. Also, I like how they look Color-blocked with the Gray+Purple Flats. Next time I will pair Hunter Green with Purple in a bigger dose. I am wearing my New, Portofino Shirt which is almost a Nude Color. The Gold Studs on the Collar go well with the Gold Bow Necklace & Gold Studs. I like the textures in this Outfit too, between the Thick Knit Open Cardigan, The Quilted Vegan Leather Skater Skirt, the Studs on the Shirt & the Alligator-looking Ballet Flats. What do you think? Do you wear Fun Colored Tights? Do you think they make a Winter Outfit cuter?

  4. I would definitely wear those striped tights, I think they are totally adorable and spice up a neutral outfit perfectly! I love how the green tights go with your leather skirt, too. Those shoes look so good with your green tights, too! The first outfit is probably my favorite though, just because of those tights! I am going to be on the look out for similar ones now!

  6. I love the idea of wearing colored or patterned tights. It makes an otherwise simple outfit have a little bit of sass! The green tights are really pretty paired with the black and white outfit.
