A Black and White Kind of Sunday.

So this was the first Sunday I had off before I started my new job and it ended up being a great Sunday. I woke up late, spent some quality time with my husband. Had a late breakfast (sort of lunch) consisting of cappucino and chocolate croissant with an old virtual friend (who was an old neighbor of my husband's from when they were both children). This girl and I have 'met' on Facebook about 5 years ago and a beautiful friendship had started. 5+ years later when I came back to my home country of Albania, I got the chance to meet here and she is just as lovely in person.

She also loved how I looked (as in what I was wearing and what I looked like in person.) I then came home, shopped at our local market for fruits & vegetables and I cooked a mean lunch, consisting of three courses (hence the photos of me sitting down by my cooking creations LOL). Among the cooking: a fresh salad (for which I am a specialist); I made my first-ever risotto and it came out nice, fried some eggplant and baby eggplants and made a chicken broth soup with chicken pieces in it, later for dinner. After we ate lunch I proceeded with some cleaning, doing laundry and washing dishes. I finished up the day reading a book.

I must say I had a beautiful Sunday and it was a beautiful day. The sun was out and the sky was clear even-though it was chilly. The cafe-bar we sat at is called "The White Rose" and I 'discovered' it in 2004 while in Tirana. To this day it remains one of my favorites. The outside part of it is gorgeous (as the two outdoors photos prove) and it will look even prettier come warm weather. I had a great time with my friend and a good day overall.

Light-Wash Black, Skinny Jeans with Rhinestone Pockets in the Back: White House Black Market.
Black & White Stripped Sweater, w/ Peek-A-Boo Back: White House Black Market.
Black Camisole w/ the long Crochet Lace Peeking from Under the Sweater: White House Black Market.
Long, Sparkly, Jet, Beaded, Black Necklace: The Limited.
Sparkly, Jet, Beaded, Dangly, Circle, Black Earrings (match the necklace perfectly): White House Black Market.
Mushroom-Colored Boots with Foldover Knit & Cone Heels: Christmas Gift to Myself (from Albania).

P.S. As you can tell this is pretty much a Black & White Outfit not just in its coloring but also as in the brand of White House Black Market. I worked there for over a year while I was in Michigan and it left a huge dent in my wallet, every month. LOL But I love their unique clothing and you can never go wrong with these two colors. =)

  4. Ada, black and white use to be the colors that were predominant in my closet.
I make an effort to not wear them that often as it became a uniform for me.
However I like it, its a nice ensemble and if it gets any chillier you can always thrown in a colored scarf.
BTW I really like the flowers !

  6. Lorena, Thanks. I absolutely, 100% love and wear any and all kinds of colors. I love them all. I am much more of a COLOR person than a Black & White person. I was wearing a Black & white outfit to work yesterday, however 4 weeks into my new job and I have yet to wear a head-to-toe black outfit. I, too, as everyone have many clothes either in black, or white/ivory as well as a combination of both. But while I worked at this store (WHITE HOUSE BLACK MARKET) I added a lot of black & white clothing to my wardrobe. I must say I owned very little black in comparison to any other girl. I had a lot of colors in my wardrobe and made an effort to always wear color outside of my work-place at this store. It's a good thing they (White House Black Market) feature 2 new colors every month, usually shades of red, pink, blue or purple.
